Centerville is rich in architectual history
Not only is Centerville the home to the historic Architectural Preservation District, featuring early stone houses from the early 1800's, Federal-Style homes from the mid-1830's, a Victorian home built in the 1890's called the McGrath House, but it also boast many subdivisions of unique ranch-style homes from the 50's and 60's. One example is the 1959 ranch home built by humorist Erma Bombeck.
